About Us

A family legacy disguised as a heist

Fashion is the thread that ties our family together—woven through decades, continents, and closets.

When our mothers arrived in Spain from Cuba, our grandmother lovingly sewed all of their clothes by hand, turning limited resources into beautiful garments. Her creativity and care laid the foundation for a family-wide love of style. Her daughters grew up understanding that fashion wasn’t just about what you wear—it was about how it makes you feel, and who you honor in the process.

Years later, our mothers took that passion further—starting a business in Sevilla, Spain sourcing handcrafted bridal veils and mantillas from local artisans. They brought together tradition, elegance, and curation, introducing timeless Spanish craftsmanship to women looking for something special. While they weren’t seamstresses themselves, they had an impeccable eye and a deep respect for handmade beauty.

That same energy lives in Stoleitfrommymom. What began as a cheeky blog—styling pieces “stolen” from our mothers’ closets—has grown into a brand that’s continuing a legacy and romanticizing sustainablity along the way. Rosa brings design expertise to upcycle and prototype garments from vintage and deadstock fabrics, while Elena brings the styling and storytelling to life. Together, they create pieces that feel personal, ethical, and unforgettable.

The Heist

We call it the Heist, but not the kind you think.

It’s not about stealing — it’s about reclaiming.

Reclaiming the craftsmanship that once defined clothing.

Reclaiming family tradition from the back of a wardrobe.

Reclaiming fashion as something intimate, personal, and slow.

Every Stoleitfrommymom piece is part of that heist — a nod to our mothers’ artistry and an invitation to join the getaway. Our brand lives between generations, between memory and reinvention, between the stitches of what once was and what will be again.

The first drop — The Merch — is your entry point: the crew uniform. Limited, playful, and made for those who understand that style is both inheritance and attitude.

The next chapter — The Couture Mantón Collection — brings the real art of the heist to life, reimagining one of Spain’s most iconic traditional garments, the mantón de Manila, for everyday wear — pieces designed to be worn, lived in, and loved. Each mantón is upcycled from forgotten fabrics, hand-finished in Spain, and crafter to bridge heritage and contemporary fashion.

Each piece transforms tradition into wearable storytelling — the kind you pass down, not throw away.

With every limited-run collection or “Heist”, with every story shared on social media, Stoleitfrommymom honors the generations of women who came before — and inspired those still to come.

What We Believe

We believe in stealing back what matters.

In reimagining heritage instead of discarding it.

In creating clothing that feels like memory — familiar, bold, and made to last.

Because the best things in life aren’t bought, they are passed down.
